Throughout the day, I found myself thinking that I was living in the 1950’s; that is how realistic this book really was! It got me to thinking about how we can ‘segregate’ others on a daily basis just because they are different from us. God made everybody in his own image, everybody! Another thing that this book teaches me is to never give up. For example, Rosemary stayed at her new school even though she new it was not going to be easy.

Remarkable. A lot of times in other cities, we have to go far outside the city center to find that affordable land. We used to convincing people to make that 20 minute to 30 minute drive to come see the neighborhood. Would it be jarring? Would it detract from the actual story EastEnders were trying to tell? Shouldn’t the actual story speak for itself and get the message across without having to rely on real tragedy to make us feel? The first thing that made me realise that my worries were unfounded was when I was speaking to Bonnie Langford who is so passionate about getting this story right. She said that the story is about the real life situations EastEnders can represent a fictional account but on this occasion, there is something far more important than EastEnders’ story. For one episode alone, they handed the mantel over to those who are living this hell every day.MORE: EastEnders spoilers: Fans heap praise on ‘incredible and devastating’ episode endingAnd she’s right.
